Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Saluting the Rockies was born in 2006. Pulling on the heavy, driving style of the Foo Fighters and the groovy feel of Franz Ferdinand, Saluting the Rockies music incorporates powerful and funky drum beats, much like the dance music of today, giving their songs a more up-beat, danceable feel. Using the influence of The Vines, the band likes to use simple yet catchy guitar progressions accompanied by intense and hooky vocal lines. Their musical feel is much like a hypothetical “punch in the gut” followed by a sensual “kiss on the lips”. Miles Paquette-Falk (guitar, lead vocals), Grant Bielefeld (bass, lead vocals), Doug Louiselle (drums, vocals), and Aaron Tanning (guitar, vocals), make up the group that Music Connection Magazine raves is, “ A talented band that demands attention!” Jimmy Landry, A&R Representative for Capitol and Virgin records states, “ This band has something cool and commercially appealing. Their overall appearance is great; the band looks and sounds like it belongs together.” Saluting the Rockies has been featured at South By Southwest, The Taste of Chaos, District Del Sol Summer Festival, Allbiz Entertainment Label Showcase, and the South Park Summer Music Festival. The band can be heard on The Indy Radio Revolution WMIR 100.9 FM in New York, Last.fm and on RadioNY.org. |
